Clark crammed his fat foreign feet into the tiny slippers and waddled down the hall, fuming

I shouldn't be grinning from ear to ear about Clark's awkwardness, both physical and culturally, but as with most things he does it so adorably XD That, and it put me in mind of 1) Rai's similarly themed illustration (yeee) and 2) the odd occasions I went through in Japan that my family hadn't prepped me for, like.. incomprehensible foodstuffs in Kyoto breakfasts. [Clark: *pokepoke* Me: I hear ya.] Besides which, his finite patience is amusing. *giggles* "Fat."

Awww, Bruce's phone convo with Dick T_T Really, nothing to drive the feeling of being a total heel (even though he couldn't help it, really) on home like a watchful Superman.

As always, Bruce forced himself not to hesitate, not to consider the hideous implications of what he was about to say. "I love you too, kiddo."

GUH. Bibble T_T

"It's only money. Call your family. Wish them a Happy New Year."

GUH. BIBBLE T___T (And sure, Bruce, suuure. Completely pragmatic, objectively detached decision. .. okay, maybe I'm jumping the gun, this just being the second chapter of a NOVEL, but I like being snide about Bruce's DENIAL.)

Bruce looked at Clark, his face in shadows, touched with silver, a chiaroscuro. "I don't believe that."

One, I think you must be the first writer I've seen to slip chiaroscuro seamlessly into a sentence, or possibly at all. Two, BIBBLE *^___^*

Clark continued to hold up his teacup, waiting, his smile unwavering. Stubborn oaf. Grudgingly, Bruce touched his cup to Clark's. A tiny clink of china on china.

You're going to have to stop making me bibble so much, before I have to wonder what the hell it means. But OH the mental images! So sedate and comfortable with this indescribable yearning feeling, wah~ *flails*

Note: Loved image of Clark slurping his tea. Don't know why. Probably because he would do it adorably.

I'm loving awkward Clark much more than is healthy. He's so much fun to write!

Rai's pictures have really been the driving force behind this series...I've wanted to much to put some of her images into words, somehow. I just pray I'm not too far off on Japanese culture!

And so much LOL about the elegant meals, yes. The "What is this?" "It's delicious." exchange was a real one we had with a co-worker once.

Oh, Bruce is definitely not motivated by any discomfort caused by seeing Clark woebegone. Nope.

I don't know what it means either, but I think I like it! *grin*

Although Clark doesn't know it, I believe tea-slurping is actually proper etiquette! To cool it in the mouth...I think. Could be wrong. Either way, I'm sure he's adorable while doing it. :)

Thanks for the feedback and the, uh, bibbling! It's greatly appreciated. :)
