Why I love Blake's 7

Dec 04, 2006 06:34

So I was talking in chat this weekend about my other great fandom, the old British tv show Blake's 7. The first fandom I ever wrote fic for. My first love.

So I went looking on Youtube for the last four minutes of the last episode, "Blake." And I found them. For the purposes of my flist, all you need to know is that:
Avon (the man in black)=Batman (pragmatic, cynical, paranoid as hell, perhaps crazy by now)
Blake (the scarred man in brown)=Superman (idealistic, charismatic, foolhardy)

Avon and Blake were thrown together at random as prisoners and have since then (reluctantly, in Avon's case) been fighting the evil Federation. The two of them have one of the most intense love/hate relationships ever, always fighting and saving each others lives. Blake went missing a couple of years ago (he's gone for the last two seasons) and Avon and the rest of the remaining crew have finally tracked him down (Avon may or may not be going slowly insane during those two years). But because of a misunderstanding, Avon is told Blake has sold him out to the Federation just before he shows up.

What follows is the most horrifically amazing, stunningly slashy last four minutes of a show ever.

Spoilers, of course.

Keep in mind that for all intents and purposes, that's Clark on the left, Bruce on the right.

That's the end of the show. All that's missing is that after the original cut to black, you could hear the sound of a hail of gunfire, followed by the final credits.

Damn.

damo_in_japan is trying to re-encode the fanvid he made of these last moments, which is more funny and sarcastic than slashy. We'll see if it takes.

ETA: It did! For the final four minutes of B7 set to a song from the Muppet Show, click here.
