That is always Luthor's blind spot, yeah--he can't understand the idea that Kal might not put his own race first because he knows he would, in this case...
Lex sees Kal as a tool and doesn't care about being morally better then Kryptonians, he just wants his freedom, which is actually understandable in this situation. I find that I can sympathises and even agree with some of the things Lex says, even though I know he's not a good person.
I was going to write Lex as working with the Kryptonians, and he would have none of that. "I'm a villain, not a monster," he informed me, and I had to grant him that. :)
Also, it seems that Bruce is slowly realizing his own emotions. He didn't seem quite as startled about his passion towards Kal as he did before, because he was passionate about how Luthor doesn't understand Kal.
I see Bruce as very aware of his own emotions, just...terrified by any overt statement of them. He can feel anything in his own secret heart, but to state it directly is a huge risk for him--which is why he can't finish that sentence, lol, but he is trying... and Kal will I hope learn to not need that statement as well.
Oh, and I'm glad you liked Lois! For some reason I see her as very movieverse Lois, which is weird because Kate Bosworth does not seem to be the best choice for a Lois in the Resistance. Maybe it's because she's young and more uncertain of herself here. I'm hoping she'll make it into the next arc and have some more to say. :)
