I don't like the way that Bruce talks to Alfred in this. I feel that in some comics, they have a father/son relationship or at least a good friendly relationship, and the whole boss/butler is just a formality, but every now and again a comic will turn up where Alfred is most definitely a subordinate.
Dude, you don't speak like that to the person who RAISED you. Lesley would Kick your ASS.
I think it depends on how you read that "Enough." I read it as a sort whining "Okay, mom, you're right, I'll stop moping in my room and join the damn party." :) If you hear it as curt it does sound unpleasant, though. They seem to have a very parent-child dynamic to me, but it might just be that I roll my eyes at my mother nagging at me a lot, lol.
Yeah, when I read your comment I was mystified, but when I went back and re-read that "Enough" could be really rude and dismissive. I cut Bruce a lot of slack in his dealings with Alfred and tend to just assume he's being snarky instead of bossy, but it's definitely ambiguous...
I took it as more spoiled whiny rich boy being bratty to his father figure. :)
Because Bruce and Alfred, like Bruce and Dick, have this relationship that shifts back and forth between father/son and master/butler and sometimes blends all together.
Bruce and Dick's is even more complicated in certain fannish scenarios! ;)

Then again, I do actually say the rudest things to my parents in semi-jest. It's a love-hate relationship.

LALALALALLALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!
I try to ignore the incesty stuff. And the Clark/Bruce/Dick stuff. That squick's me.
I totally see the whiny spoiled bitch rich boy though. *sigh* Bruce. Even when your parents were murdered, you turned out to be a whiny ho.
