Oooo! I love the connection between Clark's longing for the stars and the Elves' longing for the sea. It's so perfect. And Clark stayed for Bruce! *squee*

He turned it over in his hands, admiring its natural asymmetry, the spiked roughness of the outside that gave way to creamy, satin-like pinkness inside.

Beautiful description of the shell. :)

And Bruce calling *Clark* unromantic? LOL! Pots and kettles indeed. ;P

I ADORED Clark's anecdote about realizing he could really hear the sea when he was 7, and that he wasn't just hearing stuff inside the shell. I think that's the most gorgeous, poetic way for super-hearing to kick in that I've ever heard. :D

And Clark's geekitude pwns all! I'm sure the eidetic memory helps with knowing obscure details that significantly up one's geekiness. *grin*

"I can also recount Earendil's geneology for you, or recite some of the Lay of Luthien."

"And they say you're no fun at parties," Bruce jibed.

LOL. Bruce, you're just taking him to the wrong parties. =P

And I used to wonder, if an Elf heard the sound of the sea in a shell, if that would be enough to evoke his Doom

I love the way Bruce's mind works!

And the image of them standing cheek to cheek to listen to the shell just melted me. Another MotS homerun from Jen! Woo! This fic was absolutely dreamy. MotS + the sea = win every time!

And (belated) Happy Birthday! *huugs* XD

Oh, I know! I just gaped at Bruce-muse when he came up with that one. :)

I ADORED Clark's anecdote about realizing he could really hear the sea when he was 7, and that he wasn't just hearing stuff inside the shell.

Movieverse Clark is really fun for having powers so early, in some ways. I always prefer versions where they don't manifest truly until he's older, but having them be there early adds an extra bit of eeriness to his life.

Edit: I was just answering someone else's comment when I finally fully realized that the anecdote owes a lot to your wonderful "Predator"! I still consider that like my ur-Clark story...

And the image of them standing cheek to cheek to listen to the shell just melted me.

*purrs* That made it in very late, somehow! But I loved it too once it finally insisted on being there. :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm still in awe over the art! *beams*
