Oh, how bittersweet! How could Bruce in the regular continuity ever resist Clark? Not only did he promise to be the faithful one, his memories harken back to a time when he felt their love was fated. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Bruce should know this.. :sigh:
And they make such adorable 16 year-olds!
Bruce chiming in on a Xmas carol is almost a scary thought. ;)
>>"Don't be sad, you know I can't bear to see you sad."
Aww.
The passion between the two of them was just so delicious. I could really see Clark pressed to the glass with the universe in his eyes and Bruce at the center, like an angel...
It was so sad that the world broke -- what do they say: things fall apart, and tend to shatter? What a foreshadowing...
Friggin' fantastic continuation, Jen, as usual. It should be some sort of crime to do what you do so quickly. Kudos.

Yes, but at least it's a relatively grim carol! :) DaMo actually suggested I change that to him just saying it as he walked in, and maybe I should have, but he was in such a good mood about the Watchtower and his present and he felt like singing. :)

I'm so pleased you use my work for inspiration! *glee*
That's what's so great about fandom - it's a symbiotic relationship. You write things that make me draw, and I draw stuff that makes people write! Yays!

Glad to see you could rework that one to not be a sad story of one sided love! (sort of!) It was a very pretty image, just.. sigh. I think the Watchtower has the windows just for star reflected smut. Bruce thinks of everything.
"You need a lab, son," said Lightning Lord, "and a central location for your work and surveillance."The Belfry! weee! I loved it the first time you wrote about it, I just love to see it happening. Also, all of Bruce's excitement over the Watchtower, is gorgeous! It feeds my tinker!Bruce obsession ( ... )

Re-reading it I think the angel wings from "On Borrowed Wings" sneaked in there too!
Bruce and Clark singing carols is sweet and scary at the same time. And Clark's gift, lol, and Bruce's assumption that it was photoshoped... i's so in character it blows my mind away. I love it.
Bruce should have known better, but to be fair, Clark's powers have only just started to manifest completely.
Also, I agree with Sarah. The Black Mercy rules all. (Also, I'm thinking the Black Mercy is a slash plot generator...)
It worked with tmelange as well for inspiration, didn't it? What's not to love about a canonical item that shows you your heart's desire, especially around people so good at blocking their knowledge of their heart's desire out?
I have a scary suspicion, and I almost wrote it in, that if the Black Mercy had hit AU Bruce it would have had no effect at all. :o

How scary is that?? I tried to come up with anything, and nope, my Bruce in this setting can't think of anything his heart desires either. That doesn't speak well of his psychosis. Lol, and now every time I think of Bruce being all wired up, I remember his near hysterical breakdown in Clark's bunker beds. That's going to stay with me forever...

I'm, um, pleased that Bruce's near-breakdown will stay with you! I prefer all the really gorgeous images in your stories that stay with me, though. :)
