what an awesome turn, to pair fear with fear, and let mortality win as the gift it *is*

*dances* Dan totally gave me all of that--I was floundering at the beginning because I couldn't figure out what the point of the arc was, and he was like, "Shouldn't Gotham have a song of its own, that's different from the music of the spheres and that Kal can hear?" And...that was that. :)

And I kind of like to think that both fears, of mortality and of infinity, kind of balance each other in the end, not only Gotham turning a little less threatening, but maybe also the space?

There's definitely a feeling of balance, isn't there? At least I hope so. Maybe it will help with the space problems! It's a very good moment for Kal, although Superman still won't be mucking about in Gotham. :)

I love the theme of mortality not being a curse. It's one my favorite themes, and Gotham, oh Gotham. Gotham as entropy, you have my heart, kitten! <3! It will destroy itself, just like everyone there, and it's okay. To be terrible and beautiful.

Heh, you know how I struggle with this theme! Change and death have to go together, and without change there's really no life...and yeah! That! :) You said it better than me.

I think Metropolis has a bit more of a.. Spheres air? kind of? uncaring and ever growing, ever bright.

I don't think I had really exactly thought of it that way, but it makes perfect sense, doesn't it? *tilts head* And it all ties back into the shadows and light theme as well--shadows as entropy and light as infinity, oooh. I love how themes come together without even noticing it! It's because I have fun people to share ideas with, you know...
