Awww... I love the little angsty touches of Woobie!Bruce - the flinch, the emotional shutting down to do what's pragmatic (SO Bats!), the disappointment when Snow White Clark didn't wake up... Go find the bastard and kick some ass, AmgryBats!Style. Hehe. And then come back and be all gruff and schoompy!overprotective with injured Clark. =P

Eeee, thanks! I'm glad the woobie came through in the first part--it's so hard to tell, sometimes, if it's coming through, if it's too head-poundingly obvious, or what! Being pragmatic is a survival technique with him--it's when he's most brutally pragmatic you can be sure he's dealing with some really strong emotion.
Ass-kicking, them comfort! Bruce has his priorities straight...

My Bruce!muse is, I suspect, almost relieved! Kicking ninja ass is much easier than being...(ugh)...open and honest about feelings.

So sad and so sweet the way that Bruce confessed his love to Clark. I actually teared up.

I hope that some part of Clark heard him and that it will give him some strength to fight the soul taker!
But boy, I can't wait to see what happens when Bruce catches up with Kyodai Ken! An angry bat can be scary...

We'll get some of Clark's POV in a couple of chapters...Bruce helps. :)

And here I am thinking Bruce is going to be all calculating the entire chapter but no! He's totally human in the last bit. Love what he says to Clark. Touching, to say the least! :P And c'mon, Katana, you hang in there!

(My pained confession: all the activeness in this scene was my beta's adding! I mostly had him stand around, dumbstruck!) But that is exactly how Batman deals with things like this--by putting Bruce away someplace inside and doing what has to be done to cut through the chaos. It's both frustrating and exactly what I love about him! (But I was happy I got a chance to write him being openly woobie as well!)
