Eeee, J'onn! I totally did not see that coming (well, until the fire of course). I didn't expect Katana either, but I know very little about her. I'm going to use this story as my mental backstory for Outsiders though now. ;) J'onn laughing at the boys for following/avoiding each other was cute.

I know almost nothing about Katana, lol. I searched and searched for SOMETHING showing her backstory, but it seems to be one of those that she mentions somewhere and it's never actually shown. She and Takeo clash a few more times in Outsiders (on the whole, because early Outsiders was a crappy book, she is a really boring character, humorless and cardboard).

J'onn laughing at the boys for following/avoiding each other was cute.

*grin* He will probably have to answer to Bruce one day for snooping in their minds about their secret identities (he was a paranoid Martian!), but the UST...that they were shouting to the skies. Poor J'onn... ;)

That's how much I liked it. (That's a good thing)

I'd hug Bruce, but I think I have a better chance of survival if I assault Superman than if I try and hug Batman.

): Katana. I really loved that family. A nicely done origin story though! And J'onn! Oh, J'onn, that fantastic, fantastic Martian! That little, "I can't" and then doing it anyway. And watching Bruce and Clark dart around each other! Perfect!

But oh, Katana. ): My heart is all achey. Even more achey because of Bruce and Clark's total lame-ness. C'mon, get it on already!

Also, great action scene. The tiger was awesome. I love the image of Superman wrestling with this giant (orange? white?) tiger.

*hugs J'onn tightly* I kind of went searching for DC characters with links to Japan, and when I learned about Jade Warrior (he's canon!) I went with it...and then when I realized how well he meshed with how Katana's family dies I knew it would be such a cool scene for him. And then I felt pretty guilty that I considered killing off those nice people and tormenting J'onn "a cool scene," lol...

Yeah, Katana's awesomeness combined with the boys being all "Uh, so, we're not gonna sleep together again, right? Because you don't want that, right?" was...frustrating! (but I liked the tiger too! I imagined it like being sketched out of orange neon lines or something...)

So sad about Tatsu's family but that was an exciting update and Martian Manhunter! The League is forming.

So cool and those silly boys...

I love them but they are both so dumb sometimes.

Can't wait for the next update.

They both really stole the story in this one, I think. :) Clark and Bruce being silly doesn't trump Katana and J'onn being awesome!

Arrrrgh about Katana, yes. I decided to use her story as the frame for this arc and partway through suddenly realized, OMG, I'm going to have to kill those babies! I was not at all happy that I had boxed myself into this, lol. It's one of those backstories that's written really quickly ("Her family is killed and she takes up the sword") without really dwelling on just how awful that is...
