Lord of the Rings Online has been patched and is massively buggy, so I have time to post a little Golden Age fun while my guest and husband curse the fates and rail at cruel, cruel game patches.
You know, I'm really starting to think almost all the Golden and Silver Age Superdickery comes mainly from the Lois Lane comics. Because for every example

I love that he does it as Clark, too. "La la la...grabbing a truck..."

I love this subway icon. Where's it from? I um, have kind of a thing for subways/metros/tubes/trains, and I get really happy when they're in comics. Cass's subway Batcave = my dream home.

I know! "The roast next door isn't cooking right! This looks like a job...for Superman!"

I'm pretty sure the images are from the first Superman OYL arc, "Up, Up, and Away." He does a lot of running around in subways in that one--you should check it out!

Every time I start to forget that Clark always goes through two thirds of the old comics acting completely oblivious to the villain's evil only to reveal at the end that he knew all along something comes along and reminds me. "Oh, right, that. Yeah I saw it a couple hours ago. I was just faking you out. Suckers!" It kinda makes me want to strangle and hug him at the same time.
Also? Where in the world get he get that space helmet? He asked Bruce for it didn't he?

I know, it totally cracks me up every time, even as it becomes entirely predictable. "Oh no, you've got me helpless! Actually...no, I replaced all your guns with chocolate ten pages ago, la la la..." Save us the trouble and just knock their heads together at the beginning rather than stringing us all along, Clark!
The space helmet...uh...he stole it from NASA, totally. Nah, I bet Bruce had a spare. :)

The intersecting storylines all stemming from Clark's looking in on his neighbors has a similar feel to Hitchcock's film, "Rear Window."
When was this published? RW was released in 1954... I'm just curious.

Rear Window is probably my favorite Hitchcock film, so I saw the simliarities right away.

Man, I never get tired of the idea that people might think that Clark and Superman are awfully close... too close... for comfort.
Yeah, it's mostly just in fic, but I just love the idea. Also, when people think that Clark's lover is cheating on him with Superman. That's great too.

Muahahahaha! That's just too good. I'll have to work that into a story someday...
