“Look for the woman in the dress. If there is no woman, there is no dress.”- Coco Chanel

Ahh my dress! That was quite an experience. I searched and scoured the internet websites looking for "the one." It was an exhaustive and not very fruitful search to say the least. I found maybe two or three out of hundreds that even felt remotely worth trying to find for a trial. Then looking one day I saw an ad and I felt something really special about it.  I quickly saved it and set  about a survey with my bridal girls. It was a hands down winner.
I hunted it down and Found it at The Bridal Mall which was about an hour away. Kristen and Jackie and I made plans to go for a trial. After making the appointment I could not wait to see it in person. The morning they were to arrive I woke up and sang my own mixture of "I feel pretty" from West Side Story and "I could have danced all night" from My Fair Lady.
It was a fantastic moment arriving at the store and knowing I was about to look for a wedding dress! The ladies were so helpful and wonderful. They got "my dress" while I looked around at other choices to pick from. I selected two other dresses one I thought was quite lovely and the other I was curious about.
It was mildly funny that the sample they had for me was 6 sizes too large but it still did the trick....when I came out Jackie and Kristen both burst into tears. Honestly as soon as I stepped into it I knew it was the dress for me. I felt like it was the most gorgeous and romantic thing I had ever worn in my life. This is of course despite the fact that it had to be held on with clamps in the back. All the little girl fantasies of being a princess were hard to resist when you were in such a stunning garment. It was as if I could feel a piece of the magic that would surround the day to come when I would marry my true love.
