The bell rings, causing you to sit up suddenly at your desk. You know it's yours because it has your initials carved into it, your territory marked for years to come. You must've fallen asleep during another boring lecture. But now you have to go through the rest of the day wearing a wrinkled uniform...
Isn't there something wrong with this picture? Your classmates seem familiar...sure, some must've failed a grade or two. But what's up with your classroom? It's so dark and depressing. The ceiling in the corner has a dark stain that's steadily growing, even dripping. And all the windows are covered with old newspaper and red tape.
The room needs some serious fresh air, or at least some light. But when the newspaper is torn away, you'll see the dozens of faces pressed against the glass on the other side. Girls and boys, with at least one wearing a uniform identical to your own. And all of them have the same black-rimmed eyes, the same white skin and dark hair, and the same blank expression.
And they're all floating at least two inches off the ground.
Just like that, you've gone from being a tenant in a haunted apartment to a student in a haunted high school.
Because high school wasn't scary enough when it was normal.
((OOC: Oookay, here's the deal! This plot is optional in the sense that you're free to have your character(s) wake up at school or remain in the apartments. But you won't be able to communicate between the two places, so please state your location in a tag, subject line, or somewhere in the post itself. Those left behind will find yearbooks with the pictures of the missing in it and will have access to the wishing stairs, which they'll have to climb to get to the seemingly empty school --might as well try that wishing thing while you're at it(?). Those who wake up as students will instantly know their canon and each other, but memories of the apartments will be hazy at best. Everyone will be trapped together and virtually held captive by the ghosts of students...until the bell rings and you can make a run for the next class.
