Canon Update FormThis form is to be used for players who wish up update their characters with occurrences that happened later than the canon point from which said character was applied and accepted into the game. Previously, players would have had to drop and then re-apply; this will hopefully help streamline that process. Please read the

Her big brother was her light. She adored him, and the fact that she was willing to explore a terrifying, dangerous haunted mansion is inarguable proof of that. He could see visions just like she could, and as such he was the only one she could speak with about her experiences. She felt safe in his presence, and knew he would protect her and keep her from harm. Due to the fact that their father was presumably dead and their mother committed suicide, Mafuyu was, in Miku's own words, "her only family." He'd taken care of her and loved her and as such she was endlessly devoted to this kindhearted man.
Miku is shy, and timid--perhaps even awkward. She feels like an outcast, and was in fact treated like one when she was younger. She had had a hard time keeping friends and could not (and still cannot) open up to anyone easily, due to the discomfort she felt about her powers. Between the visions, the isolation, and her lack of living parents, it's no wonder she wasn't at all comfortable with other people when we see her in the first game--she hadn't gotten the opportunity to feel comfortable with people. Thanks to living with Rei and Yuu, however, she has learned to open up some (or you could see it as circumstances forcing her to be more open), though she continues to be the farthest thing from a social butterfly.
Rei describes her as cheerful and hard working, though the cheerfulness may be an act she puts on for their sakes. While she is someone very kindhearted and caring, she's still very depressed over the fact that Mafuyu stayed with Kirie in Himuro Mansion, and feels guilty that she did not stay with him too. She wishes she could have saved his life somehow, even if dying was his ultimate choice. She's very strong, and managed to last two entire years before the guilt got to be too much to bear and the Manor of Sleep curse caught up to her. By the time she's being taken, she's overwhelmed with guilt, and is willing to follow visions of her brother forever if it means she gets to see him one more time. Despite her withdrawn nature, she not a coward. In both games she appears in, she's clearly terrified of the ghosts she sees, but fights on despite it all--both times because she's searching for her beloved older brother. He is her biggest motivation, and the biggest part of her life--a part in her life that nobody can replace.
By the time we see her in III, she's just tired of living without him in general. The additional loss of Yuu also couldn't have helped matters--Yuu was her brother's best friend, after all. Rei even mentions at one point that, upon discovering a photograph of Miku and her brother, that she's never seen Miku look as happy as she does in the photo. Even still, Miku manages to go out and do research for Rei and keep the house tidy, as Rei herself is too depressed to have everything run smoothly. This just underlines what a strong, kind person she is, really. Even when she's at her breaking point, she's still going to try and help one of her only friends get through a rough time in her life.
When it comes to people she really and deeply cares for, she can be very selfish. For example, she didn't want Mafuyu to stay with Kirie at the end of I, even if it meant Kirie would not have to be alone. If she grew to really be fond of someone (Rei might be a good candidate), this selfishness might continue to manifest. She fears losing those she loves because she doesn't have many close friends in the first place, and that is no doubt the root of that selfishness.
Updated Fears: Miku's biggest fear now is not getting the change to apologize to Mafuyu for not staying with him and Kirie in Himuro Mansion.
Updated Powers: Miku's abilities are still the ability to see ghosts and visions, but she won't have her Camera Obscura with her this time.
Also, given that the Tattoo/Manor of Sleep curse results in death, I'm curious as to whether or not it will be retained in Jigoku. I'm fine if it is and fine if it's not, though. :3

From here, your character must disappear from the apartments for at least three days (seventy-two hours). They can disappear for longer -- up to a month (thirty days) -- but they cannot disappear only to re-appear ten seconds later. Additionally, you must also make a post on jigoku_ooc informing the rest of the game of your character's disappearance so that your fellow players know what's happening. If you want to keep the nature of the update a surprise that's acceptable, but the fact that an update is happening should be communicated.
