Tora-Con
On the 23rd and 24th of March, I went to Rochester, NY, to experience Tora-Con.
23rd
Woke up at 6am, after going to bed at around 2:30am. Got onto the highway around... 7am?
And it took about 2.5hrs to get there. I didn't get carsick on the way there. Just mostly chilled, listened to the conversations the driver and my friend were making.
Right, so, we finally got there. Took us a while to find the place, but we finally did.
This is us walking to the entrance. We parked pretty far from the place.
I was walking slow. I saw this weird thing and was like, whoa I have to take a picture.
Didn't realize we were going to get closer. So, I got a better shot. It's some art.
And first picture i took when we got in. Just a random shot.
It was at a college, but it was pretty big;; So many buildings and rooms and crap. GOD; This was the biggest con I've been to.
And second con... yeah.
So, we got there pretty early, so there wasn't a TON of people, but there was still a lot...
We decided to check out the Vendors area first. The long was SUPER LONG. I didn't take a picture of the line to it, but GOD.
It was worth it, though.
Afterwards, we went to the Artist Alley.
Into another line! It goes all the way down. It was fine, though.
Skip ahead about 30 minutes, we're at the entrance of the Artist Alley.
And we're going in.
I didn't really get anything. There wasn't anything I wanted at the time and nothing at struck out for my friends.
That was the area. It was small, but there was a lot.
After that, I think we waited in another line for signatures? I don't even remember. There was so much around this time;
God, waiting in THAT line was really horrible. It moved so slow;
The time was extended since it took so long. I had to break from the line to sit down. The signing was for voice actors.
I'm sorry, I don't have the paper with me, so I don't remember their names. One was the voice for Shiro on Deadman Wonderland. (I liked her.)
Anyways, LATER ON AGAIN. We walked around, saw a bunch of cosplays but this one.
This one got me good.
OH MAN
YES.
I had to get a picture when I saw this. They had such a hard time getting through the door. oh god
Ahhh, yeah. We decided to sit down for a little while, since during this time, there wasn't anything to do. Looking around, I saw this guy.
Jeff the Killer. =A= There were so many of them, but that one was the creepiest.
While spinning around in the chair, I saw a Rise of the Guardians group! Toothina was the best, in my opinion. I tried to sneak a pic, but...
She started down the stairs. Booo.
After a little while, she came back up.
Oh, nice reflection of my bag. Shit.
And she saw me snap a pic and I was like, oh shit, it'd be weird if she came over to me to ask for a pic.
AND THEN SHE DID.
She did a really good job, it was pretty. *w*
Ooka got us some pizza, since she was hungry. I was just mostly thirsty.
AND SPEAKING OF DRINKS.
We both got a Ramune soda. I got an original and she got some hawaiian... style? It was blue.
ANYWAYS
I opened mine in the middle of the hallway and it just... spilled everywhere.
Got in my bags, my hands got sticky, it was just... wow. It tasted really good, though.
Ooka's did the same thing. Exploded. Hers tasted... ugh, though. I didn't like it. I did keep the bottles, since they looks cool and have glass marbles in them.
Right, so after that.
The guys we came with wanted to put our stuff in the hotel room. Which was fine, but then they wanted to get food.
I got carsick from all the turning around. =A= But after I got sick, I was fine. Saved my food for later, though.
But, since Ooka put all her stuff in the room, she couldn't go to the other autograph signing. (She brought a specific book for it.)
And she was really pissed off about the whole thing. That wasn't my experience, so I'll leave that out.
Since we didn't go to the signing, we went to some really fun trivia games!
The first one we went to was really awesome. It was a regular trivia game and 3 of us got picked to try to answer the 10 questions. The one that answered the most got a prize.
Ooka tried and lost to this guy by one point. She got 6 right...
I tried and won with 2 points! I got lucky...
I chose...
I already saw it in Japanese, but it was the only thing that appealed to me in the prizes;
And I guess I do still like Hetalia. Just not as much as I used to. (Since it got canceled.)
It was fun listening and guessing the answers.
After that trivia game, there was, "GUESS THAT ANIME!" where they showed an anime screenshot and the first person to raise their hand and guess it correctly got a raffle ticket!
I didn't get anything since everyone was so quick. Ooka got one, from Petite Princess Yucie.
And with the raffle tickets, obviously the people that got the number on the ticket won something. We didn't win anything.
After that game, there was "GUESS THAT ANIME TUNE!" where they played an opening or ending and you had to guess what anime is was from.
You got bonus tickets if you could guess the song name and artist.
I only knew one, from the Secret World of Arriety. NO ONE ELSE HAD THEIR HAND UP AND I WAS LIKE REALLY?! I couldn't remember the song name or artist, so I only got one ticket. BUT STILL, I got something.
Ooka got something, too. Can't remember what it was from, though.
Anyways, there was this one that guessed a lot of things.
Twilight Sparkle.
They'd only play a second of the music and she'd get it.
Someone else got it before here, omg.
BEING SMART IS WHAT SHE'S GOOD AT, SHE KNEW IT ALL
LOOK AT ALL THOSE TICKETS, overlapping... god.
And of course, she won something. Lol. i wasn't mad at her, it was just... LIVIN' UP TO YOUR COSPLAY, GIRL
Ahhh... after that, we wanted to go to "VA's Uncensored." But, we didn't have ID's... so we couldn't go in.
Fuck our lives, right? It was near the end of the day, so everyone was winding down. It was like, 11pm.
There was a rave next to our building, so we were waiting for our friend to get out of their before we could go.
I took a picture of it. Flashing lights, loud music. Yeah.
And I started to get a splitting headache that didn't go away until I went to bed;;
Looked around the room, people chilling.

Homestucks back there.
Yeahhhh.
The rave finally ended and we are finally leaving for the night.

THE MOON
Got to the hotel room.
It's... just normal. Ooka and I slept in the bed on the left. (My fancy pink and grey pillow...)
I had a horrible headache by this time and the only relief was to sleep. Even though I wanted to look at the stuff I got, just... couldn't.
24th
Woke up at 9am, but GOT up at 11am. We had to leave the room by noon, so it was fine.
We got there and just headed to the trivia thing again.
Twilight wasn't there this time. Lol...
It was the guessing game.
And that guy on the left gave out prizes to go to Youmacon! I was pretty surprised. (He won that round.)
The Death the Kid in the middle was one of our friends. He didn't win anything.
Ooka and I tried at the same time and I won the round.
With another 2 points! I didn't take a picture of what I got, but I really like it.
After that, we tried waiting in another line to have voice actors sign stuff for Ooka.
During the wait, I noticed she didn't have her badge. She either lost it or forgot it... so, she had to get a new one.
And she was given the day pass.
It was way cuter than the Weekend pass.

The Hetalia movie again, Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles, Sebastian figure, Vocaloid playing cards, and Maria Holic 1. (The prize I got in the trivia game this day.)
That's the figure I got. I got a fake set before, so... this was a little... like, thank god.
And I got some stuff for Mandy.
White totoro plush, some dog figure and something else;
Once I saw this plush, I had to get it for her.
Ooka did get me a few things, since I ran out of money;

And overall, my experience was nice. It was so much fun, and I hope to go again. Or to another convention.
