As Ami has already announced on this grand open forum...I GOT A NEW JOB (a third job mind you) but at least this job is something I am totally psyched (but completely nervous) about!! I sent my resume to the new Pike YMCA on Monday regarding a dance instructor program. I thought, why not? Tuesday, the Family and Youth Coordinator e-mailed me back and said, "Thanks for the wonderful resume. I think you're exactly what I've been looking for." WHAT?! So I went in for an interview yesterday and she informed me that she doesn't even have a dance program yet, so whoever she hires, she will allow the dance program to be "their baby." WOW! NO PRESSURE AT ALL! And...
She came from the Fishers Branch who has an awesome dance program and she wants "Pike's to resemble it." I told her that I had limited formal training, but I guess my "charisma and creativity" is what she is looking for. Wow, even as I'm typing this I'm getting more nervous. She hired me on the spot! It doesn't pay amazing at first, but as the dance program brings in more money, I will get more money. That's cool.
So yesterday, after an amazing two-hour paintball session with my cuzzzins, I went and got new dance music, new dance shoes (I got the teacher discount...cute), and some other stuff to help prepare myself for classes...NEXT WEEK! I have a 3-5 year olds class and, honestly, I'm almost clueless as to what I should do with them! Nervous, nervous, nervous. I get two 5-12 year old hip-hop classes which will be a sinch...so that eases my nerves some.
And then I talked to my honey for 2 hours!
