30 Day Doctor Who Meme
All right. I want to be one of the "cool kids" and do this stupid thing. I mean, you all saw how well I did the 30 day music meme, right? All one day of it? *facepalm* I'll probably skip a few of these since I don't follow tumblr sites and whatever, but HERE WE GO...
The Doctor: Do you know like we were sayin'? About the Earth revolving? [walks towards Rose] It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it 'cause everything looks like it's standin' still. [looks at Rose] I can feel it. [takes Rose's hand] The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinnin' at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it. This quote has always stuck in my mind and I'm not exactly sure why. I can remember the moment I discovered how small we are in comparison to the rest of the Universe. When I was a tiny thing, I was reading a book about the Sun and it talked about when it'll engulf the Earth and surrounding planets in five billion years. And while reading that, I freaked out. I had a panic attack, I started crying and my mom couldn't comfort me (she did, however, say something to extent of "Don't worry, you'll be dead by then", so that's not exactly what I call "comforting").
I know that's not exactly what this quote is GOING for, but that's what it reminds me of. Also, it was the moment of where I found this show to be intriguing to continue watching (remember, at this point, I had no clue what Doctor Who was about because I am a NOOOOOOB.)
