Someone on my flist said that Karen Gillan subscribed to the Sarah Chalke Method of Acting. Thanks, whoever said that. I can't unsee it.*
Oh well. Didn't love it, but that's to be expected. Can't love every single one, can we? I do love the propaganda poster with the Dalek on it. WANTS.
Mostly, I was underwhelmed by this episode, but from what I can tell from the summed-up thoughts from
who_daily, I'm in the majority (I haven't read anyone else's reviews). I was rather bored the whole time, and when I looked down down at the clock when the Doctor had gone to the Dalek ship, we still had over half of the episode left. That's a bad sign.
I'm also not too keen on the whole new design of the Daleks, though... won't lie, totally squealed when there was a red one. YESSSSSSSSSSSS. HE SHALL BE KNOWN AS DALEK BOB FOREVER AND EVER.
Still loving Amy. LOVING Amy's outfit. I love that these outfits just sit around the TARDIS. If I could pull it off, I'd totally run around Time and Space in a mini-skirt and cowboy boots, despite how unpractical it probably is.
Matt Smith is doing that thing that Tennant does, which I'm loving. That in every shot, he looks different to me. I tried explaining it to someone before, and I failed miserably. There will be a shot where he *looks* young, younger than his actual age, and then in the next shot, he'll suddenly have gained a decade or two. His face FASCINATES me. AND HE CALLS HER POND. Love it.
I am curious about next week, though. The Weeping Angels still scare the ever-living shit out of me (someday, I'll explain my phobia of inanimate objects coming to life when my back is turned on them SHUT UP, IT'S REAL), and even though I'm not in love with River Song, I am very interested in more of her character and backstory as well as her relationship to the Doctor. And I still need to draw her "Dancing With the Rs" picture. One day. ONE DAY.
* This is not a Bad Thing, as I totally loves me some Dr. Elliot Reid.
macbeemer, I still mourn the loss of the Who vs. Scrubs Super List.
