Fine and Mellow
* Primary applications to all seventeen schools have been sent with da heavy price tag of 640 bucks. All dis really means is dat ah'm in debt again...
* Which brings da news dat ah have wrote mah first bounced check...da rent check. Oy.
* Ah have officially accepted da Carlsbad Caverns National Park position in New Mexico...so ah'll be peacing outta A-town in one month. Essentially mah late summer/fall camp...
* Ah look like ah have chicken pox as ah'm covered in mosquito bites. Four days backpacking trip in Algonquin Provinicial Park, Canada turned into a nightmare as black fly, mosquito and deer fly eggs all hatched dis past weekend. Constant clouds of insects swarmed around my head and body creating an incessant high pitched buzzing that has yet to stop ringing in my ears. My two hands could not slap and pinch fast enough. Worst still, we used up all DEET bug spray on just da second day. Ah literally watched mosquitoes suck my blood, their transparent abdomen filling up with red. Ah was in fight or flight mode, almost breaking out in a run hiking the terrain with a forty pound pack on my shoulders...only now feeling da after effects on mah body. Several times, ah was so frustrated almost breaking out in a panic attack right on da trail. Ah have over thirty bites on the back of my hands alone, and must have killed over 300 mosquitoes and deer flies with my bare hands. Still ah survived...but nothing -not da great weather or beautiful lakes and woods- could compensate.
