hey. I had a pretty good weekend.
On Friday I ate some mushrooms and posted in my live journal. that's why that entry's a little crazy. I sat around that night reading and being jealous of sheena getting to see the wailers.
On Saturday I cleaned my room and got a super short haircut. Sheena and I decided to meet in Nashville to see the Wailers and the P-Funk. Well, Sheena didn't leave from Knoxville early enough and got there an hour late. I got there just in time to hear the beginning of the wailers set and i listened to about 15 minutes of it from outside the fence. When sheena got there we drank a couple beers and went over to the venue and found out that the wailers were completely done. That bummed me out because I like the wailers' live show a lot better than p-funk's. :( We did end up seeing the whole P-Funk show, which was a lot of fun. They really rocked it out, but the whole show was a big jam session there was never a time that music wasn't playing. It was cool, but hard to follow. But when they got onto something that everyone knew the whole place rocked out. It sucked that 16 oz cans of bud light were $5. How ghetto is that? It fucking sucks if you ask me. After the show we grabbed a hotel room at Knight's Inn, which really wasn't that bad and the bathroom really wasn't as dirty as sheena made it out to be.
Sunday I drove back home and bummed around for a little bit. I really didn't accomplish a damn thing on Sunday.
On Monday I went to class. In Education we listened to a presentation from the
Junior Achievment people about volunteering in schools. All of us(education majors) are going to have to teach this program about economics in second grade classes. As it turns out all of the elementary schools available are city schools in the heart of Raliegh and Whitehaven. Yessssss.
(Here's the part that all you ladies want)
After school I called up the Memphis Animal Shelter and found out that my kitten was ready to be picked up. So I told my mom I was picking up a kitten from the shelter and she got kinda mad at me, but I went down there anyways and got him. He's super cute and gray. Anyways when I brought him home my mom was heading out and she saw Ambrose(my kitten) and really liked him. It took him a while to get adjusted to the house. He ran around everywhere and I think he got lost a couple of times. He also spent a couple of minutes in every room with a ceiling fan to stare at it. I thought that was amusing. Thankfully this cat already knew how to use the litter box. I guess pooping in sand is some kind of instinct for cats. Ambrose is a total sweetheart and my family really seems to like him. When I got back from the library last night I found Ambrose sleeping on top of my dad while he was napping. When I went to bed Ambrose cuddled up with me and slept pressed against me. He's a really good natured, sweetheart of a cat.
I took a couple of pictures of the cat, which you can see on
my yahoo photo album.
peace out yo.
