Why don't we go to church? Why don't we read our Bibles?
Simple:
If we do, we learn good from bad and wrong from right. College is all about finding your way, being selfish, and doing things that make you happy even if they are not the best things to do. College is all about experimentation. College is all about that final Hoorah before breaking out into the real world. Well, that's what everyone would like you to think. Bad things happen when you put yourself first. Bad things happen when you drink. There's a reason the Bible speaks against fornication. Experimentation is not good. There are so many people searching for happiness and that inner peace that only God can bring. Unfortunately, many of us (that's me included) are looking in the wrong places. Drugs, alcohol, sex, good times. Where do these all lead you? To more confusion. Confusion about life. Confusion about happiness. Gray areas of right and wrong. It's time for everyone to stop and reevaluate our lives. Are we living from day to day just for us? Or are we striving to make the world a better place by serving others before ourselves? Are we avoiding learning that what we are doing is wrong and ungodly? I challenge all of us (that's myself included) to stop and think about these things. Meditate. Read our Bibles. Talk to God. Put others before ourselves. Pray. Believe me, prayer changes things. I wouldn't be where I am today without prayer.
Why do I write this? I don't know. It's something that's just been on my heart all summer. I guess this is a good place to write it so some will read. These are just some of my random ramblings about life. You can take it, or leave it...but I pray that it will help somebody along the way.
