Given that my Christmas present from my mom is the rest of the money that she owes me (and that I got the rest of the insurance money from the wrecked car), I can now afford to buy another car. I don't want to get another Vibe, mainly because I need a little more horsepower than it had (only 123 for the awd version...that's insane!!!!!). Right now it's looking like I'm gonna get a used Saturn Vue. Unfortunately, the cars that I really like are all new for the 2005 model year, and thus a wee bit over my budget. And my dream car, an Infiniti FX45, isn't going to be happening until I find $45,000 by some miracle. I'll be pleased with a Vue, though. I can get a used one with 250 hp v6 (it's actually a Honda engine...weird), AWD, heated seats, side airbags, sunroof, etc for under budget, which is awesome.
In other news, I got another tattoo. It actually is more an add-on to the previous one on my foot. I got a cloud with light-blue shading put right under the previous wording, so now you don't even notice that the "free bird" is crooked. It looks really sweet, too! I will have to scan my foot in on the scanner again so you guys can see what it looks like.
Things with la familia are still very fucked up, but I'm not going to get into it. There was a rather amusing occurance while at my Aunt Jane's house in Alpharetta last week. My grandma, who always bitches about the fact that Aunt Jane has a gas stove (um...who cares?), cought on fire! My cousin, grandpa, and I were all watching the Falcons-Saints game in the living room, when all of a sudden we hear my Aunt screech "Grandma's on fire! Grandma's on fire!". So I grab my cup of apple juice and run in to the kitchen. By the time I got there, the fire was out. When my grandma turned on the burner, a big burst of gas came out and got on her sweater. According to her, the flames were all over the front of her sweater, right up to her neck (because it was gas, you couldn't see the flames, and there wasn't any smoke). She smothered it herself, while my Aunt stood there and screamed frantically (Aunt Jane is never helpful in emergency situations). The sweater my grandma was wearing was made out of some sort of synthetic material, so you couldn't tell it had even cought on fire unless you smelled it.
Amanda, my cousin, got incredibly excited about the whole situation and was laughing so hard she fell down (she's 6, and has a multitude of developmental problems from being premature). Aunt Jane said that she kept thinking about that song "Grandma Got Runover By a Raindeer", and that's why she was screaming "Grandma's on fire". When my uncle finally wandered downstairs an hour later, his explaination as to why he didn't come to help was that he thought Amanda had stolen a piece of ham or something...right...because that would cause Aunt Jane to scream fire...
The whole situation could have been very tragic, but instead we can all laugh about it. My family has very National Lampoons-esque holiday seasons, so I guess we can file the "Grandma's on fire" incident under that.
