Oh. I guess an update is in order. The last many of your heard was probably that I was in Seattle working on a PhD in astronomy. Things have changed. I now live in Baltimore, Maryland and work as a programmer supporting an atmospheric scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. I don't work directly for NASA, I work for a contractor called Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI), but they bill NASA for my salary. The guy I work for studies aerosols in the atmosphere, especially using a satellite instrument called MISR. So far the job is good. I've got an office, desk, brand new computer and a competitive salary. The people I work for are nice and the job is interesting so you can't ask for much more! The only downside is my commute, it's about an hour each way. At least I can listen to NPR the whole way.
