About two years ago I decided to abandon engineering and get a degree in astronomy. Then a year or so into that I decided I wanted not just a masters in astronomy but a PhD in astronomy. Enter the long, expensive, and stressful application process: after being admitted to 4 of the 13 schools I applied to I have picked the University of Washington as my school of choice, so come September I'm off to Seattle!
