Primary School School Song
I am a fan of school songs.
Some school songs sing of their rich histories while others are full of aspirations for the future.
Hence, I was extremely excited to find my primary school school song posted on Facebook. I can remember the tune but just cannot remember the lyrics. It didn't help that the lyrics were in Malay. So I am keeping a copy here for remembrance sake:
Kami murid sekolah Hua Yi
Harapan negara esok hari
Bersumpah setia hidup berbakti
Untuk negara ibu pertiwi
Hanya yang ikhtiar subur
Tekun belajar tanda makmor
Kami tetap akan berjaya
Untuk mencapai cita-cita
Chorus:
Hua Yi sekolah yang ku cinta
Harapan bangsa harapan negara
Kami bersumpah setia berjasa
Untuk negara Singapura
