Anticipation

As they drew nearer to the place, the excitement grew. One had heard he was handsome. Another had heard he was ugly but you didn’t mind, that’s how charismatic he was. A different person said he was offensive, but could crack a great joke. Rumors swirled that he was gay, or secretly married, or celibate. All that any of them really knew was that if there was one person you had to meet, this was he. Meeting him would change your life, they said, and you’d never be the same.

They were understandably upset by how ordinary he actually was.
