The Swedish Team

All the members over here!!

Eva, our main guide, is married to Mike...

... who grew up in Nuwara Eliya and was our bridge to the Sri Lankan culture. Their kids...

... are Emil...

... Joel...

... and Ellen.

1. Carina, experienced in travelling business, kept our tickets safe so that we could return to Sweden.

2. Jonatan, young but nonetheless a good spokesman and has very good knowledge about environment.

3. Desiree, our expert in environmental issues and held a lecture in the textile factory for the workers. The professor of the University of Kandy was so impressed by her.

4. Rebecca, our little sunshine on the trip.

5. Matilda, with a great heart for people, who also gained attention from boys wherever she went.

6. Jacob, the computer geek. Every team needs one, right?

7. Jakob, our youth pastor, who can preach anywhere, anytime and about anything. Or maybe not.

8. Cornelia, the travel guide and mood maker.

9. Charlotta, our very own nurse.

10. And me, Erica, the Asian who is allergic to heat. Lucky I live in a cold country. ^^;

People in Sri Lanka

Chefs at the Paradise Beach Hotel in Negombo, making breakfast omelettes.

A man and an elephant.

A snake-charmer.

Women working with elephant dung paper at Pinnawala.

Schoolgirls in school uniforms.

Mike (to the right) and the professor from the University of Kandy. I didn't really like him, because he's the kind of type that favours one student and ignore the rest...

Curious people who watch us as we pass by.

Daisy, who cooks for us at the guesthouse where we stayed.

Giggling schoolgirls on our way. They giggled even more when I took the picture and showed them. ^^;;

Volleyball! The nationalsport of Sri Lanka. Or is it cricket...? O.o

Smyrna Church in Ragala

Time to go to church. Our second purpose of the trip is to visit Smyrna Church in Ragala, since our churches are 'friends'.

Preparing for the Sunday service at Smyrna Church in Ragala. Charlotta and Cornelia in saris and Rebecca in a punjab.

I really like the colour of Desiree's sari and she is really beautiful wearing it.

Sunday school in church. Do you see, lots of lots of lots of kids! XD

The kids are shy, but they get very happy if you say hello to them. =)

Actually, she did smile at me, only not for the camera... ^^;

Preschool students welcoming us. Kawaiii ~

Visiting "the poor children's" class. Joel used his own pocket money to buy slippers to each of these 17 children as a gift. Impressive, isn't it?

Gregory, one of the pastors in Ragala church. He is doing a fantastic work there and I'm so impressed he remembers the church members' names, where they live and sometimes even how old they are.

The Sri Lankan Team

I don't remember all the names, I tried to write it down in my cellphone, but they were deleted. T_T I guess I have to wait until August when they come here and just ask them again, hehe...

There are six males and four females and pastor Kit who is going with them too. Some of them actually have Facebook accounts. ^^

We made homevisits to each of the Sri Lankan team members. This girl (to the left, next to me) doesn't look like she is 28, does she? I don't remember how she spelled her name, so better not write it here... XD

Last evening in Nuwara Eliya/Ragala the girls (we) managed to persuade the guys to wear sarongs, because all the girls would have saris or punjabs. Handsome, aren't they? ^_^

Let's party!!!

Exchanging addresses.

Amen.
