[Sunday note] 100 days with Jesus

Sep 07, 2008 16:41

What would Jesus do?

This is a challenge our pastor gave us today. Can you live intensively with Jesus in 100 days, trying to do what he would have done if he were in your shoes?

So in short it means (for me personally) to follow in the footsteps of Christ:

Daily....
- prayers
- reading of the holy Bible
- show love; spend my time and energy on other people
- clean and healthy lifestyle
- worship
- reading of spiritual books
- 1 hour quality time with God

Books to read during this period:
1. The Gospel of John
2. Massive Prayer Adventure (by Sarah Mayers)
3. In These Shoes?! Knowing How God Sees You (by Shell Perris)
4. Andens folk (by Peter Halldorf)

This verse came to me at today's church service...
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." (1 Cor 6:19-20)

In the same chapter it says:
Everything is permissible for me - but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me - but I will not be mastered by anything. (1 Cor 6:12)
