Narrowly missed a 6.9 earthquake south of Athens, but I'm told nobody was actually killed by it.
Something of a miracle.
Our Turkish taxi driver asked us:
"Is it true that no Jews were killed on 9-11 because they all took off that day?"
when we responded in the negative (rather horrified) he told us:
"They say no Turks died there either, but that's because we're all so lazy, everyone came to work late."
