stupid constants
while i am slogging at the numerical PDE project, i am really cursing. there are so many freaking stupid parameters. for goodness sake, these are just constants that nobody cares. or at least, i don't care at all. they don't appear in the O notation. they don't affect the math at all. all they did is make me feel dizzy and nauseous.
same for fourier transform. who cares about those 2pi? they only hide away the nice symmetry, and so i have like many others develop the habit of letting 2pi=1. that's like physicists letting c=1. people make such simplifications all the time, and i don't see why the lecturer has to make us to do these.
