Bad Seed auditions went fairly well. Grant cut my reading with Cati short, but really, he and I both know I'm not going to surprise him much at this point-- he knows what I can do and what my style is, I know that he'll cast me if and where he thinks I fit. Unfortunately, he cut me off before I'd had a chance to build the scene much, so it may have come across as a little bland. Emily and Amanda both auditioned very well, and Holly was a bit of a surprise-- I know I haven't heard her read since middle school, but she's improved a lot. The callback list will be posted tomorrow, and callbacks themselves will be after school the same day. The cast list will be posted by Monday. (This is much too long a wait for my tastes. I'm going to spend the rest of the week panicking. I wasn't even nervous during auditions, but I will be after the auditioning process is over. Gyah.) Josh went and changed between school and auditions, and came back wearing a dress. Complete with faux-breasts. I knew there was a reason I adore that boy. (For reference, the scene we all read was between a mother and daughter.)
Dear Comp Class,
"Said" is totally not dead. Especially not when the alternative is "regurgitated." The only thing worse than this is the Bronte obsession with "ejaculated" as a dialog tag. Seriously.
