Yesterday was incredibly stressful but ultimately rewarding. Got all my work done, had a great workout, a great massage, and then a yummy dinner and plenty of sleep. I'm crazy sore today, but whatever, it's Friday. As usual, I have a large pile of work on my desk of things I've been putting off, but actually I'm most of the way through that already. It's never really as much work as it feels like it's going to be. It's nice to finally be back on my regular work schedule of three days on/four days off. I haven't had any true days off in a long time. Granted I've taken two awesome vacations this month, but that doesn't count so much as days off because I'm still busy and running around and not at home to take care of whatever I need to do or not do there. I love vacation but it's true that you need vacations from vacations, too. At least I do.
Tonight I'm biking home from work and then carpooling with Chris to Josh & Mary's for a game night. I'm going to try to sneak in a nap between biking home and going over there, though, so I have plenty of energy for the festivities. Then tomorrow I'll bike to Southeast for the 2:30 kickoff of Hokie football season -- vs. Alabama. No one expects us to win this one (Tech is unranked and Bama is #1), so even a drubbing won't be too disheartening, and in the unlikely event that we pull this one off, then that would just be a huge fucking bonus. Go Hokies!
Sunday I told Katy I'd take her to the Saturday Market (which is really a whole-weekend market; this is not some cruel joke I'm playing) for one last weekend hurrah before she starts school again for the year. She may or may not actually come up for that, though, so it's possible I have most of Sunday free. I'll probably go for a run. I'd like to try six miles. I say that now, but come Sunday I know I won't want to do that at all. But I'm going to try, I think. Then I'll reward myself with a couple days of playing around with my beading stuff. I need to get some sort of organization system for all the loose beads I have. Maybe I'll pick something up at a craft store.
I'm glad it's nearly the weekend.
