Summary
Sherlock is head over heels for John, but you wouldn't know it
by looking at him. First-person present-tense series of short scenes
from Sherlock's point of view, borrowing heavily from Arthur Conan
Doyle's stories. This is the chaptered version. It exists separately
because I really did think I was writing a series for the first several
thousand words. But it turned into a chaptered fic, hence, a chaptered
version for readability.
Pining!Sherlock is always a win!
This Sherlock is a little bit creepy and dark.
May be because he's "a little bit" crazy in love with John.
I am captivated by the author's words in showing Sherlock's feeling and thoughts.
It's complicated. So many things progress in his mind at the same time (Sherlock's sarcastic and sometimes humorous comments is one of the many aspects I enjoyed).
But of course everything involved Sherlock is never too easy or simple.
On the surface this story is all about betrayal, infidelity, murder, hurt and lie, but deep down it's a touching love story between Sherlock and John.
I love the characterizations of Sherlock and John, I love how they try to learn or identify the way to love and be loved by someone you really care.
They have flaw, they made mistakes, they're selfish but they're also deeply in love.
It is beautiful and very believable.
