Cosplay
This may seem hard to believe. I've been sewing my own costumes for two years now. I am aware that there are people out there who think I'm a liar. They believe that Dante makes my costumes for me. Believe what you want, but I know the truth and so do my friends. I can't say I've been cosplaying longer than two years. Prior to those years, Dante did help me with costumes.
All in all, I've been cosplaying for two years. Putting on a costume, when you didn't make it and some factory did, it just isn't right. I don't want to claim to be a cosplayer if I didn't make the costume. I may never win any prize for my creations, but I'm proud of what I sew.
I have 10 costumes total of what I've sewn. I will not say I've been cosplaying more than two years. I guess in some places I can be considered a novice. Since I've only entered two of my lolitas in two contests. As for anime and gaming costumes, I've never entered any that were mine. I've won for acting, but not for design. When I reflect back, no matter how I look at it, I'm still a novice. While my sweetheart is the expert.
