our night
I had a date last night. With Bill! We went to the North End. We ate at Giacomos because Bill's always wanted to go there. If you don't know the restaurant, it's the one that always has a huge line outside. Why, you ask? There are only 10 tables inside. Anyways. We had to wait one hour and 15 minutes to get inside and we got there 10 minutes after they opened!! Once we got inside, it was great. We got fresh bread, wine, beer, sauteed broccoli with garlic and oil.. YUM. I ordered fresh spinach and ricotta ravioli with fresh plum tomato sauce topped with tomatoes, red onions and CHEESE. It was delicious! Bill ordered linguine with mussels and calamari with the giacoma sauce which is lobster/red sauce. Not too badly priced at all. After that we went to Modern Pastry. A friend at work told me to go there instead of Mikes. Honestly, I probably would have rathered gone to Mikes. I got a chocolate dipped cannoli with ricotta and chocolate chips and we got some other weird thing that was gross. The cannoli was ok. I guess I just don't like them. I got one at Mikes this past winter that had chocolate mousse in it which was like 1000X better. I know it's not traditional but I don't give a shit!! We took our pastrys and ate by the ocean and then walked on a boardwalk around the harbor. It was a nice night.
