Hey, so nothin' ain't goin' on. I'm working (training, rather), and Rhea's working as usual. My bike's in the shop (and I'm going to sell it on Craigslist in order to acquire a 'real' roadbike), the car is STILL in the shop. Graduation is almost here, and after that, I guess it's the official start of summer.
The other day I cooked and ate some fiddlehead ferns from Whole Foods. I've been meaning to try them for a while, though Rhea couldn't bring herself to try them. There's no such thing as a capital-F 'Fiddlehead' fern - it's just the term used for the young, curled shoots of the Ostrich fern. You have to boil them for at least 10 mins. before you do anything else with them (like eat them, obviously, or make some other food dish with them), 'cause I guess some people have gotten sick eating them undercooked. And I guess you can look for them as you would mushrooms (FYI, no warm-weather field mushrooms have popped up...yet), but look-alikes can cause stomach cancer. Anyway, they are supposed to taste like a mushroomy-asparagus, and they sorta did, but I don't really like asparagus, and I didn't really like fiddlehead ferns. I'll post the pictures we took later.
