Rhea probably won't like me telling everyone her good news, but yesterday she got her first paying modeling job for Vidal Sassoon. Two days at $500/day. She was hand-picked first out of 150+ girls. To make a long story short, we were both excited about it. Well, her prep day was today (Sat.) and the job, which is a runway thing, is tomorrow. About 30 seconds after I dropped her off at 9 a.m. this morning, some lady in a Lexus hit our car. Her Lexus sustained some minor scratches, but otherwise was fine. The front, left half of our car was completely torn away, and the left strut and shocks and axle buckled in. Her damage = probably about $200. Ours = probably over $3000. The tires of her Lexus SUV were as tall as our hood. She literally almost tanked over me. Tattoo money I've saved up over the past three months = gone, paid for towing fees. Her money from this job = almost non-existent now considering future costs for this: taxi fees to get around, a $500 deductible to get the car fixed, and higher insurance costs because someone hit me, and you get a shitty day. I'm worn out from making calls all day and trying to find a car-rental place who will give a car to a 20-year-old (and failing to find one I can walk/bike to) and Rhea is worn out having to deal with another terrible thing giving her one less reason to like this place, and you get two people who are thoroughly worn out, period. If you love us, call us and make our lives that much better. Right now all we have is each other.
