Still Alive
It occurs to me that some people may like to hear from me from time to time. So, yes, I am still alive. Been busy as all get out, but still alive.
Area 42 (my game store idea) is also still alive. This will be a planning year. The primary obstacle to me opening a gaming store is money. With money and life the way it is I cannot afford to take a 50% or more pay cut to chase a dream. But there is much more planning to be done anyway, and part of that plan will be a personal financial plan to get ready for said pay cut.
I am dedicated to this dream. My online classes start next week and every free moment I have I am trying to read one of many books I have on small business ownership.
I am also taking the dream realistically. There are lots of things that I will not be good at in running a small business. Those things I will need good staff for. However as the 'boss' I will need to know enough of what my staff does to be able to keep them honest. Don't want to get some CPA and then find out later that they cooked books you know.
In the end I will have to make a judgment based on all available information. Do I open the doors or not. I hope that the day will come when I can open the doors and start a new journey. It probably won't be this year.
