Things are gonna get hot and heavy.
Dear flist (esp those of you at clickysmut ), Yesterday, I was thinking of writing smut (as usual) when an idea struck. Most of the flist members are great when it comes to portraying the beauty of sex, so why not run a challenge for it? We already have the platform where this can be carried out!
This is the plan:
1) Participants have to write a sex scene involving two HP characters of their choice. It can be canon/non-canon/het/SSP, as long as it doesn't involve bestiality and inglorious shit like Dumbledore/random student or Arthur George (really now, Tumblr? >.<). Because those are just WTF-worthy.
2) Non-con not allowed. (Though "violent sex" between consenting adults - read angry sex after a huge fight - is welcome.)
3) Each scene has to last 500-800 words. You can enter more than once. 4) Everyone will forward their scene in html to jhestia85@aol.com.
Now, we're wondering: isn't sex without story a bit abrupt and meaningless?
That is where the essence of the competition lies. You may include plot, but plot should not take up the majority of the drabble. For instance, having random flashbacks in between - uhm - the stages of the act is fine, but we don't want the drabble to concentrate on the lovers arguing over a burnt dinner and then roughing it up on the kitchen table in the last 100 words. Capiche?
Another question comes to mind: how long is this challenge going to last as I am up to my neck in rl stuff? A whole month! I know how busy everybody is, so the challenge will run from 10th Aug to 10th Sept. Throughout this period, I will be posting the drabbles at clickysmut . On Sept 11, I will post a poll, and then WE VOTE FOR THE BEST! The winner gets a sexy banner and adulation from lesser mortals.
And so, you want to know: WHAT ARE THE PROMPTS GOING TO BE LIKE? My answer is: I wouldn’t know, because you are going to set your own prompts, you lazy curs! Yes, all I want you to do is to pick your two lovers (or three, if that’s your choice), and tell us in the author note what inspired the scene. For instance:
Title: Luscious Locks and Skunk Hair
Pairing: Lucius/Narcissa
A/N: This was inspired by the song My Heart Will Go on by Celine Dion.
Smut: Lorem ipsum yada yada yada.

Coming to the last point, I know our community doesn’t have many members, so I am going to make the entries public but under a warning cut. Those who don’t want to read can take their own precautions; those who are curious can, well, satisfy their curiosity and be done with it as I don’t expect our smut is going to get anybody deflowered or worse … expelled. As it is, the comm is not open to members below 14.
