Dear Yuletide Santa...
Gah! Meant to do this Saturday and then totally forgot with well... other stuff, like elections and Andy and emails and cleaning my room... *sheepish* So...
Dear Santa,
I'm really sorry this is so late. I just forgot. Please forgive me and I really hope this ends up helping you. Now, thank you for being willing to write me a fic, especially for one of my odd fandoms. I'm just so happy that I'm going to get a fic that I certainly don't care what it is, even if you end up writing me a Mary Sue fic set in Boy Meets Boy. *g* But as I have no idea where to start with my fandoms, I figured I could give you a little more information about what I like and a little bit about each fandom in general.
Well, I really like angst, but I like happy endings more, and I especially love angsty stories with happy endings. At the same time, I'm also a huge sucker for good old fashion fluff and romance and love and well, all that sort of stuff. Feel free to do whatever, just... please don't make me cry, 'kay? And I like my characters, well - in character. If you decide to write a sex scene, I certain won't be upset, but I'm really not big on PWP and I like my sex pretty vanilla. And it's the characters I love and their interactions together. As long as it's good, I'm just as happy with a gen story as I am with a relationship fic. I am, at heart, a slasher/yaoi-fan/whatever you want to call it, so for the most part, I would prefer slash to het if you're going to make it a romance. Also, while I have my favorite characters in each fandom, I like the rest of the cast too so don't feel like you have to limit yourself to just them. :)
The Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius -There isn't a canon pairing in this that I don't love, but from the very beginning my absolute love of this series has been Barry's and Jeremy's friendship. I would love to see something done with them for when they're older, and if you could make a believable slash relationship out of it - I would be over the moon. ^^
Boy Meets Boy - I've loved BmB since Lauren introduced it to me back in 2001, however my ships of choice tend to be non-canon - Mik/Cyanide or Mik/Skids are my two favorites. (I did a shipping meme several years ago to give you some ideas of what I think of various ships.) So, I'd love a romance dealing with one of my unusual ships, perhaps something AU or set after the end of the series if you want to stick with canon?
Journey to the West (Xi You Ji) - Okay, I love Saiyuki, but please, don't use that anime for this. I actually adore the original Chinese novels its based off, especially Monkey who was a freakin' lot more intelligent than he is in Saiyuki. I'm not looking for any romance here, but I certainly won't turned it down.
Menkui - I love Menkui and I adore Kotori. I would love to see something done with his relationship with his brother because I thought that was an underplayed element in the manga, and I figured sooner or later, something has to happen between them to resolve Kujaku's feelings for Kotori. I certainly have absolutely no problem with incest, so if it ends with them being all happy and together, well, I'll love it. However, I know that's a squick for some people, so don't feel like you have to do that if you don't feel comfortable. :)
Anyway, I really hope this helps you out, Santa. Thank you again and I can't wait for Christmas to see what you write for me!
