This makes me happy.
Even if I didn't have a number of gay friends and acquaintances, it's always been clear to me that to insist that a union of two partners of the same sex is some "separate but equal" state, is not true equality. What could be more fundamental than the right to freely associate with whomever you choose, and to choose whom it is you call family.
So congrats to all the new happy couples! May your lives together be filled with joy.
And to those who advocate the so-called California Marriage Protection Act, I say:
"What God has brought together, let no man cleave asunder."
