Raindrops keep falling on my head ...

Hello? It's been a long, long time since I updated. It's amazing how quickly the time goes by.

It's been a busy couple of months. My mother broke her arm in November which meant that my trip back home in December was a busy one. For the two weeks that I was home I was literally the Mistress of the House, doing everything I could while trying to give my mother and father a break from their newly changed duties. (As mum couldn't cook or do dishes or do laundry or clean, everything fell on my dad's shoulders. For a gent in his elder years, he did a phenomenal job pitching in.)

When I got back from Canada, work cranked up into crazy, intense mode and it's only now slowing down.

But just as work slows down, the weather gods have really started wreaking havoc here in England. The heavy rains started around Christmas. They haven't stopped. Since December, I don't recall more than a handful of days when it hasn't rained. And considering that we are a country with rivers galore, the never ending rain is not a good thing. I live in Surrey, more particularly in Walton-on-Thames, but also very close to Hersham and the River Mole. Just two days ago, I had a Flood Alert issued against my home which means flooding is possible and I should be prepared. That's scary. Particularly considering that my neighbours just up the road by a few miles are being flooded.

One day at a time. That's what I keep telling myself. For the moment, the River Mole is manageable and I'm far enough away from the Thames River not to be effected should it overrun its banks. But that's today. Let's see what tomorrow and the expected next storm brings.

In face of all the non-pleasant things, telly has proved to be quite distracting.

-- loving "The Musketeers" (boys in leather having a good time -- I can live with that. And hello Aramis -- you are slashable with pretty much anything that moves. You may have joined the ranks of the new "Black Dress in Fandom" ;D).

-- thought "Atlantis" finally improved in the last episode (but we'll see if they can continue to keep the strength of the promise of that episode into the new season as the rest of season one was pretty blah);

--loved the White Collar season and that finale --they always pull off a fabulous one -- now, if only TPTB would decide on whether or not we get a full final season (as they've pretty much announced this will be the final season of WC) or a mini-series; I'm lobbying for a full season;

-- have become much more fond of "Agents of Shield". Coulson and May and Fitz and Simmons are still my favourite characters. But because of their interactions with Ward and Sky, I've become more accepting of the remaining two. All in all, I've started to enjoy the show a lot more than I did during the first four eps.

-- "Arrow": hearts for this show. It started in Season One with zero expectations. It has just grown and grown. And now with all of the supporting cast surrounding Oliver, I'm thoroughly enjoying each chapter.

--"Black Sails": love, love, love. Pirates. Who doesn't love pirates? (Admit it? ;)) And Tom Hopper with biceps being shown off (but, more importantly, as a character with dialogue -- not just the action man!).

--"Chicago Fire" and "Nashville": these are my happy soap operas to go to. And the most recent season proves things haven't changed.

--"True Detective": if you haven't seen this yet I would strongly encourage you to find it. It's an HBO series starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two lead detectives who become entangled during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. Four eps have aired to date; another four to go. It's brilliant viewing.

Adieu for the night.
