So, I had a fabulous afternoon in London with
bigtitch and
loreley_se. We saw
Bingo with Patrick Stewart at the matinee at the Young Vic.
It was interesting. Frankly, I (and my fellow theatre going partners in crime) had no idea where the production was going, and, at the end, what it had achieved. But, the cast individually were magnificent and frankly, I'd listen to Patrick Stewart reciting tax returns. He has such presence on a stage and a voice that engenders envy amongst many I suspect. But the production itself -- bleak and, frankly, disjointed. In my personal opinion, there really wasn't enough to pull together the enclosure storyline to that of William's own angsty experiences and those of his close servants. To each their own.
On a completely different note, I came across this vid which brought me back to my childhood in Canada. We had a lot of imports when it came to children's telly shows. But, we had a few we could call our own. Along those lines, when I was growing up, there was a very popular show called "The Friendly Giant". How Canadian can you get? Seriously. A "friendly" giant? And castles! And moats!! (This probably explains a lot actually ... :: thoughtful::.)
