Travelling and the West End

May 19, 2009 20:19

I go away for six days to Canada -- six days! -- and the Barrowman dares to announce his West End appearance in "La Cage Aux Folles". ::sigh::

On the plus side: the Barrowman in the West End!

On the down side: the Barrowman in the West End less than ten minutes away from my office. ::checks bank balance:: Well, it wasn't like I was planning on travelling a *lot* this year...

Anyone interested in seeing the show? As I work so close, any day is pretty much good for me!

On the other plus side, I had a fabulous visit with mum and dad. I brought "Fred", my multi-media hard drive that plays .avi files directly onto the telly with me, and we all had a blast. (evildrem -- thank you again for introducing me to this brilliant little machine). My parents haven't seen that many movies in ages! My father was eyeing the drive this morning as I was packing and threatening to keep it for himself. Hmmmm -- methinks me knows what the Parents of Jhava are getting for Christmas this year ::heh::.

On the down side, I really need to get my parents a fast speed connection to the internet. No LJ in six days makes me go into withdrawal. On the plus side, gotta love free connections in lounges at Pearson ::pets wireless right now::

On the down side, three days of minus zero Celsius weather in May in Ontario (in the mornings). On the plus side, gardening is quite relaxing. Mum had me out in the garden for five hours for three days -- I've become an expert at spreading manure compost, repotting plants, and pulling weeds.

But on the truly plus side -- wood heated sauna right by the lake. Seriously -- having a sauna heated by nothing but firewood on the shores of a lake is an experience which cannot be properly described; it can only be experienced. And I'm proud to say that during my six nights in Canada, I managed to fit in seven saunas -- two electric, five wood heated. \0/

And now, off to board that flight to Heathrow and back to the glorious little isle I now call home. See you on the flip side!
