You see, the problem with that is one simple fact: I work for a college, which means, by extension- I work for the government. Government work means that *EVERYONE* gets paid the same, whether they do good work, or badd, on time or late, etc.
It'd be easy for a month or so to slack and not do what I'm capable of (well, truth be told, I'm not really working at full capacity as it stands- but mainly since I spend a lot of time waiting for other people to catch up- wow, that sounds amazingly arrogant) but that would really eat at my psyche. I get stressed out about what I have to do, and what timeframes I have for it, etc- but otherwise I'd be bored out of my skull.
I do despise meetings that are useless- I still get stuck in them though, which is why I have the 17" widescreen laptop- I can 'hide' behind it and get work done while still appearing 'attentive' to whatever the PHB is saying.
and with the PDA/PPC I'm even more 'productive'. :)
Plus I think the school paying for it is one possible olive branch to try and get me to stick around- and unlimited internet and phone usage is a decent branch. Not enough to keep me here long, but enough for a while.
