Yesterday was St Andrews Day and I spent the afternoon at a Whisky Festival hosted by a friend of mine who's an importer into Singapore, followed by listening to Clanadonia playing live in Clarke Quay
For reference, though I think there were three or four others:
- Miltonduff 8YO (breakfast whisky, light but fiery)
- Mortlach 16YO (mellow)
- Glenrothes (from two separate casks, surprisingly different!)
- Highland Park 8YO (rough, but very fine)
- Springbank 14YO
- Highland Park 12YO (stunning!)
- Tobermory 12YO
- Bruadar (honey-based whisky liquer, some way between mead and whisky)
- Caol Ila 14YO (more melow then I would expect from an Islay)
- Tullibardine 10YO Port Finish (very fine, make sure you get the 1993)
- Macallan 10YO
- Glenlossie 13YO
- Glentauchers 14YO
Some points of the evening remain a little hazy... but overall the post-whisky ballast, beer and band combination was a fine plan :)
