Well, I just sent Matt Ozoskey my letter to explain that I will not be returning to Cedar Point.
Oz,
I have spent three summers dedicated to working at Cedar Point. Throughout those summers I have experienced many things like pulling in Wicked Twister's train with a rope and seeing two trains on the Raptor lift hill. I have made outstanding friendships that will last a lifetime and worked hard at my job. To be told by Debra that I "seemed to have a lackadaisical year" and that I "just didn't show initiative last year" is just another slap in the face. I'm sorry she feels that way. Last summer Krystal demoted herself and Rob got demoted, and if someone keeps a crew together through two TL’s and finishes out the season on her own, that isn’t lacking spirit to me. Leadership is leadership, regardless of the location. However, four plus months to be at a ride I really don't want to be at makes for one long summer. I need a fast-pase environment and I’ve worked Giant Wheel before and it is not that. I will be pursuing other options at this time. If you could inform Debra of my decision, I'm sure she will have no problem finding someone else to step up to the job. I hope you and the 2006 team have a great season.
Sincerely,
Jackie Carrier
I really can't go back and work for someone who basically called me lazy and told me I don't have initiative. If she felt that way then why did she give me a promotion to TL? She really needs to stop being so tacky and gain some people skills. I can't stand the high school popularity contest that goes on there. When people like Phil and I have to fight for our bread and water and people like Matt Pankow and Kristy Waldfogel just get handed their positions on a platter. I made a decision last summer to go to someone higher up in the food chain to get what I deserved and now I'm continually being punished for that. So I've had enough, and I'm going to take my experiences, and my friendships I have acquired from there and move on with my life. It really isn't worth it. So here's to this summer, may it be filled with things that I have wanted to do but sacrificed in order to work at Cedar Point.
