The Calling
Where to start this entry... Well on 11/1/13 I was promoted to Black Candidate in Kempo. Next stop..Black Belt. Which will be a crazy adventure thats for sure. The legend of the Black Belt test in Kempo is enough to make me nervous as all hell...6 hours long..4 of which is just working out. Or so the rumors have it.
Last night was bitter sweet. Tom invited me to go with his family to drop him off at a hotel near Fort Hamilton. The honor of doing so was mine. I'm so glad I got to see my best buddy off. As I told Tom many times, he's really become a rock in my life. I'm going to miss him dearly. However, I am proud of what he is doing and I just hope to be able to hangout again soon. I want to make the extra effort to stay in touch and I hope that he continues his martial arts training as I would love to open a dojo with him someday. He's been a great friend. When I was badly sick with the flu in the hospital in February, it was Tom who stopped everything he was doing and came to see me immediately. When I've needed Tom, he's always been there being what a true friend is. I will miss him, but I wish him nothing but the best.
What else is new? Well I am on vacation from work which is nice. I wont return to work until next Monday which will be great. So just trying to enjoy the time off. We will see what the next few days brings. Who knows...Maybe Matt Gelfman will make an appearance.
