I am so disappointed by X-Men: The Last Stand. I was expecting much more from Rattner. To introduce three or four new characters and not give any sense of need or you know, their backgrounds, doesn't help the film, even though that was what happened in the previous two movies. We get no background on Xavier and Juggernaut and their relationship, or who the hell Colossus was, or even what nationality he was. (He's Russian, not American). Several vital characters are killed off just for the hell of it. They don't advance the plot at all. Whatever. It wasn't even Rattner's fault; it was more Fox's fault. They rushed the movie and should have let Bryan Singer complete HIS trilogy, then release him and let him direct Superman. eh...
