I'm fine. High and dry. No real damage here, but a ton of little branches and such to pick up in the yard. I've got power and water (but no cable). Now I just have to wait it out until places reopen. I never thought I would appreciate something as simple as a Whataburger so much. Anything to get me out of the house. I don't want to do any driving around though, because I don't think most of the Houston stations will be getting new gas until tomorrow or Monday.
At this time, it remains to be seen how bad east Texas came out from this hurricane. I feel Louisanna may have caught the brunt of this again. I bet they are starting to feel like Florida did last year when they were hit with three major hurricanes in one season. I wonder how long FEMA can continue to dole out money for these things?
In other news,
this has to be the dumbest story I have heard out of the middle east lately. What were you thinking Britain? Two of your troops get arrested and instead of working with the new Iraqi government to get them out (probably not that hard to do considering the power the West still holds there) you storm the jail with tanks? Stupid, stupid, stupid. That seems like something you would make fun of the US for doing. It will be interesting to see what the fallout from this is.
