The past few weekends have been awesome! Great parties, good people, good classes, it's all good! I finally got to see Kyle again! You wouldn't believe how happy that made me! He was the reason I wanted to come to FSU in the first place. I had a huge crush at one time but now we're just very good friends. In fact, I met two years ago saturday. It was at Hoggetowne Medieval Faire which is coming up this weekend! *excitement*
Moving on, Moulin Rouge was amazing! I wasn't there though, it was Erika Fury. Natalie did her make-up and everyone loved Erika! If you haven't seen the pics, you should. That same night was Scott's suprise party and a party at the House of Kaos. Pictures are up if you haven't seen them yet!
This past weekend was Slow Children Playing. I designed the lights. I loved it! Even though the Annex didn't have much to work with, I think I did a pretty good job. The performance was amazing! I was there every night and I laughed my butt off every time! There were a few interesting adventures afterwards as well. I went to Wal-Mart with Alicia, Henry, and Sean. Henry bought a Wii and it was amazing!
In other news, I'm on the staff of The Dressing Room. It's the new theatre newspaper. It's really coming along.
As far as classes go, they're pretty good. I have Creative Design, Modern World History to 1815, and Performance I on MWS and Math, Poetry, and Lighting Lab on TR. My favorite is probably lighting!
As far as shows I'm involved in... I got a part in Woyzeck as well as Machinal. I hope I spelled those right. I'm also board op for Beyond Therapy. As you all should know by now, I'm directing my play, "Helen Who?" for this semester's Smaller and Fiercer. Auditions are next weekend as far as I know.
Last night I went to see a very interesting documentary with Sean and Beth. It's called "Jesus Camp." It's about a pentecostal church camp for kids. I have very mixed feelings on that. I am a pentecostal. I did go to church camp. I was one of those children who prayed, cried, and spoke in tongues. Other people around me seemed shocked by the intensity with which these kids prayed. I suppose seeing children with tears pouring down their faces and speaking in unworldly languages is rather unsettling for most people, but I grew up with that. It's normal for me to see someone pass out in the spirit or break down crying. I've done that many times. In that sense, I really loved the movie. The things that brought me down were the politics. For some reason, those people think that G. W. Bush is a gift from God. Just because he's Christian does not make Bush the perfect president. The pentecostal kids are being raised up to think that they should do everything they can to save people including forcing their beliefs down other's throats. I was just as much disturbed as I was impressed. I plan on buying the DVD sometime though.
That is all.
